Pune, 23 June, 2016:Press release of my speech at Pune (Maharashtra) during “Vikas Parv”, organized on occasion of 2 years of NDA Government:

Senior BJP leader & Union Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said here that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been running a superfast “Development Train” on the safe tracks of national interests.

Addressing a huge gathering during “Vikas Parv” at Pune on occasion of 2 years of Modi Government, Shri Naqvi said that we have to work with great speed to bring development process at ground level and to eliminate “the system of middlemen and powerbrokers”. The Modi Government has been converting the country’s inclusive and over-all development into a reality. Our development model is aimed at providing light of progress to the last person of the society.

Shri Naqvi said that the entire world has been attracted towards India and considering our country as a safe and lucrative destination for investment and business. “Prime Minister Shri Modi has become as a brand of development and trust” across the world.

Shri Naqvi said that prosperity of villages, farmers, poor, weaker sections and enhanced prestige of Indian culture and economy at global level is hallmark of two years of Central Government led by Shri Modi.

Shri Naqvi said that due to “economic reforms” initiated by the Modi Government, India attracted FDI worth 55.46 billion dollars in 2015-16, highest in any financial year. It was 36.04 billion dollars in 2013-14.

Shri Naqvi said that amid global economic crisis, Indian economy is strong and growing with more than 7.5 per cent rate. Ensuring safety of national interests, Central Government has radically liberalized the FDI regime with the objective of making business process easy and providing major impetus to job creation in India. With these changes, India is now the most open economy in the world for FDI. Shri Naqvi said that in last two years, Central Government has brought major FDI policy reforms in a number of sectors viz. Defence, Construction Development, Insurance, Pension Sector, Broadcasting Sector, Single Brand Retail Trading, Manufacturing Sector, Civil Aviation and others.

Shri Naqvi said that the last two years of the Modi Government have proved to be “bad days” for middlemen and power brokers and “good days” for poor, farmers, weaker sections. Ensuring “corruption-free and development oriented” system is one of the biggest achievement of the Modi Government.

While during ten years of previous Central Government, “corruption of lakhs and crores” of rupees from land to air was a matter of discussion, in the Modi Government there has been a discussion on “connection to lakhs and crores”- LPG connection to 3.7 crore poor people, broadband connection to 50,465 villages, connection of 21,000 postal core banking branches, electricity connection to 8000 villages, road connection across the country.

Shri Naqvi said that the Modi Government has kicked out power brokers from “power corridors” of Delhi which has resulted into a system where each and every penny of money sent by the Central Government is being spent on the welfare of poor and needy. Direct benefit transfer scheme “Pahal” has been very effective in this regard. About Rs 61,822 crore has been directly deposited into bank accounts of about 31 crore people. Rs 36,500 crore have been saved due to “Pahal” as duplicity and leakage has been stopped. Earlier this money used to be looted by middlemen.

Shri Naqvi said that every welfare scheme of the BJP-led Government be it “Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna”, “Atal Pension Yojna”, social security schemes have ensured social-economic-educational empowerment of villages, poor, farmers, weaker sections, dalits, minorities, women and youths. During last two years, 28 crore people have been included in financial services through “Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna”.

Shri Naqvi said that social security cover has been provided to the common man through “Atal Pension Yojana” (25 lakh people), “Pradhanmantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana” (2.96 crore people) and “Pradhanmantri Suraksha Bima Yojana” (9.43 crore people). Total 12.64 crore registrations have been done under social security schemes. Under “Mudra Yojna” loans worth Rs 1.37 lakh crore were approved till 31 March 2016. Loans have been given to more than 3.48 crore entrepreneurs out of which 79 % are women. Schemes to double the farmers’ income in next 5 years have been started.

Shri Naqvi said that roads, railway lines, highways and other infrastructure have been developed with double speed in comparison to the previous Central Government.
