New Delhi, 17 Feb, 2016: Press release regarding 'Dharna' at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to strengthen national security and unity:

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs and senior BJP leader Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that anti-national events at JNU and some other places are a fight between “Break India” and “Build India”, but nationalistic commitment to unite India will destroy “destructive conspiracy” to divide the nation.

Addressing a protest, organized by cultural and social organization “Lok Abhiyaan” to strengthen commitment to national security and country’s unity at Jantar Mantar here, Shri Naqvi said that the anti-national activities by “students” at JNU and some other places is a conspiracy to malign India’s image at global level.

Shri Naqvi said that the conspiracy to harm India’s prosperity by dividing our country and disturbing peace and harmony in the society will not succeed.

Shri Naqvi said that earlier, efforts were made to harm India’s image at global level by raising so-called issue of intolerance and staging “Award Return Drama” during India-Africa Forum Summit, which was attended by about 52 nations. Now, same efforts to malign India’s image are being done by some anti-national elements. They want to create hurdle in the way of nation’s progress and employment for youths.

Shri Naqvi said that it is unfortunate that some political parties have been supporting and defending such anti-national elements who are part of conspiracy against our country.

Shri Naqvi said that we all have to fight together to protect India’s unity and sovereignty and to defeat those forces who are working against the country’s interests.

Shri Naqvi said that educational institutions should be kept away from caste, community, religion and politics. But unfortunately, after been having failed in their efforts to misguide people of the country over the so-called issue of intolerance, the Congress and some other political parties have now been misusing educational institutes for their narrow political interests.

Shri Naqvi said that fundamental rights including freedom of speech and expression are absolutely safe under our Government and nobody can harm these rights. But freedom of anti-national activities cannot be given in the name of freedom of speech and expression.

Shri Naqvi said that freedom of speech and expression doesn’t mean that anybody can try to challenge our country’s unity, integrity and sovereignty. Which type of freedom of speech and expression is this that some people are making slogans in favour of terrorist Afzal Guru, who was executed and all the legal procedures were followed in the execution.

Whether supporting anti-national activities and anti-national elements is not sedition? Whether demanding “freedom” of Kashmir, which is an integral part of India, is not sedition? Whether making slogans such as “Bharat ki barbadi tak jang rahegi jari” is not sedition? Are these activities not anti-national?

Shri Naqvi said that those political parties who are defending such anti-national elements should apologize to the nation and should behave responsibly towards national interests.
