New Delhi, 06th Sep, 2020: My Press release while addressing “Kshamapana and Vishwa Mangal Maitri Diwas” of Jain community through virtual conference and paying obeisance at Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi:

Union Minister of Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said here that all the religious and social organisations and places of worship in India have displayed immense self-restraint, self-discipline and caution during the Corona pandemic which has set an example for the entire world.
Shri Naqvi today paid obeisance at Holy Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah in Delhi and prayed for health and well-being of the people of the country. Earlier in the day, Shri Naqvi also addressed “Kshamapana and Vishwa Mangal Maitri Diwas” (Day of Universal Friendship and Forgiveness) of the Jain community through virtual conference.
Shri Naqvi said that followers of almost all the religions of the world reside in India. Various festivals and other auspicious occasions were observed during the Corona crisis. The people of the country displayed restraint, caution, sensibility and celebrated all the festivals with taking all precautions and followed the guidelines of social distancing to help to curb the Corona infection.
Shri Naqvi said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led from the front, India's response to coronavirus crisis. His effective efforts have helped in mitigating the challenges of Corona crisis to a large extent.
Shri Naqvi said that during the Corona pandemic, in an unprecedented measure, the Modi Government provided free ration to more than 81 crore people; about 90 thousand crore rupees were transferred directly into the bank accounts of more than 41 crore needy people; free gas cylinders were given to about 8 crore families; Garib Kalyan Package worth Rs 1.70 lakh crore has been given; Rs 1500 have been given into bank accounts of 20 crore women; Rs 19,000 crore has been given under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi; “One Nation One Ration Card” has been implemented which is benefitting about 67 crore people; additional Rs 40,000 have been allocated for MGNREGA, farmers can now sell their produce anywhere in the country; more than 60 lakh migrant labourers reached back to their home states during Corona pandemic through “Shramik Special Trains”; Rs 11,000 crore have been given to the states under State Disaster Relief Fund for providing assistance to migrant labourers.
The steps taken by the Modi Government in health care sector have ensured that despite of huge population, India has been successful in containing the affect of the Corona pandemic to a great extent which is evident from the higher recovery rate of coronavirus in the country. India has not only become self-reliant in health sector, India has also helped other nations. India has turned a crisis into an opportunity.
Shri Naqvi said that we need to “take precautions and not panic” in this situation. We have to move forward with commitment to restraint, precaution, sensibility to ensure “Jaan Bhi, Jahan Bhi”.
While addressing “Kshamapana and Vishwa Mangal Maitri Diwas” of the Jain community through virtual conference, Shri Naqvi said that the Jain religion’s philosophy is based on equality, non-violence, spiritual freedom, self-discipline which is more meaningful and purposeful even today for the entire world. The Jain religion’s teaching and principles not only effect Indian culture positively but its message of "Live and Let live" is more relevant to the entire humanity of the world in the present situation.
After paying obeisance at Holy Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah, Shri Naqvi said that great Sufi Saint Hazrat Nizamuddin’s teaching and message of peace, humanity, harmony, unity, brotherhood breaks the barriers of religion, region and country. We should carry forward his message of welfare of the mankind with all honesty and sincerity. Teaching and principles of Sufi, Saints have played an important role in fulfilling the dream of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”.
