Ajmer (Rajasthan), 26th Feb, 2020:Press release regarding offering “Chadar” at Dargah Ajmer Sharif on behalf of Hon’ble Prime Minister today 26th Feb, 2020:

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today offered 'Chadar' on behalf of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji at dargah of Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti on 808th Urs at Ajmer Sharif and said that unity and harmony is the soul of secular and democratic India.

Shri Naqvi offered 'Chadar' on behalf of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji at dargah of Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and read out the message of the Prime Minister in which he conveyed greetings and best wishes to followers of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in India and abroad on the occasion of annual Urs.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji said in his message, “Greetings and best wishes to followers of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti from across the world on the occasion of 808th Urs. Through this “Chadar”, I pay tributes to the great Sufi Saint who gave message of humanity to the entire world.

India is a country with rich spiritual traditions and Sufi-Saint of our country have always made efforts to strengthen the fabric of country’s culture through their principles and thoughts. Their message of peace and unity teach us to remain disciplined, humble and modest in the life.”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji said in his message, “The Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, as an ideal symbol of harmony, attracts the people of diverse beliefs from across the world. Unity in Diversity is the beauty of our country and the annual Urs is the occasion to cherish, protect and feel this feeling. From Dargah Ajmer Sharif, I pray for the country’s prosperity on the occasion of 808th Urs”.

People from all sections of the society welcomed wholeheartedly the “Chadar” send by the Prime Minister.

Shri Naqvi said that unity and harmony is the soul of secular and democratic India. We should not allow the soul and strength of India to get weaken under any circumstances.

Shri Naqvi said that the life of Gharib Nawaz inspires us to strengthen the commitment to communal and social harmony. This unity can defeat the forces, who are engaged in the conspiracy to create divide and conflict in the society.

Shri Naqvi said that various development projects have been carried out by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs and Ajmer Sharif Dargah Committee in the Dargah and “Kayad Vishramsthali”. The ancient, historic Buland Darwaja has been renovated. For the first time, separate toilet blocks have been constructed for women and men. Roads are being constructed in the entire Dargah and “Kayad Vishramsthali”. Water tanks have been constructed for pilgrims in “Kayad Vishramsthali”. Skill Development Centre has been started at “Kayad Vishramsthali”. The work for Khwaja Garib Nawaz Educational Institute has started. Lab, library, sports ground, hostels etc have been constructed in Khwaja Model School.
