Press release of “Hunar Haat”, being organised at Lucknow (UP) by Union Minority Affairs Ministry from 10th to 21st Jan, 2020:

 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today inaugurated “Hunar Haat”, being organised at Lucknow by Union Minority Affairs Ministry.

Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath said that "Hunar Haat" is being organized by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs across the country and it is giving newer heights to small and medium scale industries. The traditional art of the master artisans of the country is being enthusiastically projected through “Hunar Haat.

Shri Yogi Adityanath said that the Government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken several steps to strengthen, preserve and promote India’s indigenous traditional legacy of master artisans and craftsmen which was on the verge of extinction.

“Hunar Haat” has provided a new and effective platform to the traditional skills of the country.

Shri Yogi Adityanath said that through "Hunar Haat" a large number of artisans and craftsmen are being benefitted. "Hunar Haat" has proved to be an effective platform to bring their indigenous handmade products before the country and the world. “Hunar Haat” has given dignity to master artisans and craftsmen from across the country.

Shri Yogi Adityanath congratulated Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi for organising "Hunar Haat" and said that the Central and UP Government is extending help to promote traditional talent of the master artisans.

On the occasion, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Dinesh Sharma, UP Ministers Shri Suresh Khanna, Shri Ashutosh Tandon, Shri Nand Gopal Gupta “Nandi”, Shri Baldev Singh Aulakh, Shri Mohsin Raza, National Commission for Minorities Chairman Shri Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi, senior officials from Union Minority Affairs Ministry and Uttar Pradesh Government and other dignitaries were also present.

“Hunar Haat” is being organised from 10th to 21st Jan, 2020 at Avadh Shilpgram, Avadh Vihar Yojana, Amar Shaheed Path in Lucknow.

Shri Naqvi said that “Hunar Haat” have proved to be an effective and successful mission to preserve and promote India’s indigenous traditional legacy of master artisans and craftsmen which was on the verge of extinction.

Shri Naqvi said that while on one hand “Hunar Haat” promotes traditional arts of master artisans and craftsmen, on the other hand, thousands of artisans and people associated with them including a large number of women artisans have been provided employment and employment opportunities through “Hunar Haat”. About 2 lakh 80 thousand master artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts have been provided employment and employment opportunities in the last 3 years. These include a large number of women artisans.

Shri Naqvi said that “Hunar Haats”, being organised at prominent places across the country, have proved to be financially beneficial for the needy artisans and craftsmen as each “Hunar Haat” generates business worth crores of rupees for indigenous handmade exquisite products of artisans and craftsmen. These artisans are receiving orders for their products not only from domestic markets but also from international markets. “Hunar Haat” have proved to be “Empowerment Exchange” for master artisans and craftsmen.

Shri Naqvi said that the Ministry of Minority Affairs has sanctioned 100 “Hunar Hubs” in different parts of the country in the Modi Government-2. Training is being provided to master artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts according to modern needs in these “Hunar Hubs”.

In “Hunar Haat”, being organised at Lucknow, master artisans, craftsmen, including a large number of women artisans, from across the country are participating. The artisans have brought with them very indigenous exquisite pieces of Handicrafts & Handloom work from every corner of the country. People coming at “Hunar Haat” in Lucknow will also enjoy traditional delicacies from different states of the country.

Besides, traditional dance, music, Kawwali and other cultural programmes presented every day by renowned artists will also be a major attraction for the visitors. Renowned artists like Rahul Joshi, Priyanshi Saxena, Tarannum Mallik, Vikas Chandra, Prem Bhatia, Parmajit Singh Narula, Rekha Raj will enthral the audience with their performances at “Hunar Haat” in Lucknow.

Next “Hunar Haat” will be organised in Hyderabad (11 to 21 Jan), Chandigarh (20 Jan to 01 Feb) and Indore (08 to 16 Feb). In the coming days, “Hunar Haat” will be organized in New Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Dehradun, Patna, Bhopal, Nagpur, Raipur, Puducherry, Amritsar, Jammu, Shimla, Goa, Kochi, Guwahati, Ranchi, Bhubneshwar, Ajmer and other places.
