Jaipur, 11th November, 2017:Salient points of my speech at Appreciation Ceremony on completion of Haj 2017 organised by Rajasthan State Haj Committee at Jaipur on 11th November, 2017:

 Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said here that the “disease of appeasement” had severely affected the empowerment of Minorities and their progress was “hijacked by so-called political champions of secularism” for the last several decades.

Addressing an appreciation ceremony on completion of Haj 2017 organised by Rajasthan State Haj Committee at Jaipur, Shri Naqvi said that the so-called “political champions of secularism” shamelessly exploited minorities especially Muslims for last several decades which led to economic, social and educational backwardness of the community compared to other sections.

Shri Naqvi said that the Government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been moving forward on the path of “Empowerment without Appeasement”.

Shri Naqvi said that our Government has created an atmosphere of trust among every section of the society- poor, weaker sections and Minorities, through development works. Our policy of “Development with Dignity” has ensured that Minorities are also becoming an equal partner in mainstream development process. “Development with Dignity” is our goal and commitment. Our Government is working effectively and strongly to fulfil this commitment.

Shri Naqvi said that social, educational and religious rights of Minorities are safer and secure in India than any other country of the world.

Shri Naqvi said that development works carried out by the Modi Government during last about 3 years, have benefitted the poor sections which includes a large number of Minorities. Shri Naqvi said that some people tried to obstruct the development process but our Government has not allowed any negative agenda to dominate our development agenda.

Shri Naqvi said that the Modi Government is working with commitment to socio-economic-educational empowerment and job-oriented skill development of all poor and weaker sections including the Minorities.

Shri Naqvi said that schemes of Minority Affairs Ministry such as "Seekho aur Kamao”, "Nai Manzil”, “Gharib Nawaz Skill Development Scheme”, "Nai Roushni”- have proved an important step in the direction of skill development of Minorities. More than 50 lakh people have been provided employment and employment opportunities in the last three years through these schemes.

Shri Naqvi said that 100 "Gharib Nawaz Skill Development Centres” are being set up across the country where various employment oriented courses are being offered to youth of the Minority communities.

Shri Naqvi said that under the Multi-Sectoral Development Programme, infrastructure has been created to ensure educational and social empowerment of Minorities. 809 School Buildings, 10 Degree Colleges, 371 Hostels, 1392 Toilets and Drinking Water Facilities, 53 ITIs, 269 multi-purpose community centre “Sadbhav Mandap”, 39 Gurukul types residential schools have been constructed in backward Minority concentrated areas.
