New Delhi, 27th October, 2017: My press release regarding meeting with an Iranian delegation at Antyodaya Bhawan today:

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said here that terrorism is the biggest enemy of Islam and humanity and the entire world will have to work united to defeat such evil forces of terrorism.

During a meeting between Shri Naqvi and the Iranian Delegation led by H.E. Hojjat ul Islam Dr. Mohsen Ghomi and H.E. Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organisation, at Antyodaya Bhawan, issues related to cultural relations between India and Iran and the menace of terrorism were discussed.

Shri Naqvi said that the Government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has adopted a “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism. Shri Naqvi said that peace, unity and harmony is in the DNA of India. This strength of India has always defeated evil forces.

Shri Naqvi said that we all have to work united to eliminate those forces who are misusing Islam as their security cover.

Shri Naqvi said that bilateral relations of India and Iran are very old and strong. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s last year’s visit to Iran has taken these bilateral relations to newer heights.
Shri Naqvi said that besides other fields, India and Iran can play an important role at global level against terrorism.

Shri Naqvi expressed confidence that the visit of Iranian delegation will further strengthen India-Iran relations.

The Iranian delegation termed India’s strength of peace and harmony and cultural heritage of “unity in diversity” as a role model for the entire world.
