New Delhi, 06th Oct, 2020: Today laid foundation stone for a new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Pakur in Jharkhand through video conferencing along with Union Minister for Education Shri Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank Ji. This school is being jointly constructed by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Minority Affairs under “Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karykram” (PMJVK). Union Ministry of Education is constructing 99 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in backward, weaker, Minority concentrated areas across the country for the first time in history, and several of these Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are being constructed jointly by Union Ministry of Education and Union Ministry of Minority Affairs. Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is also constructing 6 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at Pakur (Jharkhand); Senapati (Manipur); Uttar Dinajpur and Howrah in West Bengal; West Kamang in Arunachal Pradesh; Mamit in Manipur with a cost of Rs 244 crore jointly with Union Education Ministry. Besides, Ministry of Minority Affairs will also construct Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at other places jointly with the Ministry of Education. These Jawahar Navoday Vidyalayas will strengthen PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s commitment to equal opportunity of prosperity to all sections. Ministry of Minority Affairs is also working with Union Education Ministry for providing 1173 smart and virtual class rooms in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in backward and Minority concentrated areas of the country.
