New Delhi, 29th July, 2019:Addressed national conference of Central Waqf Council at NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi today. Senior officials of Ministry of Minority Affairs, CWC Members, CWC Secretary & senior officials of council, Chairmen/CEOs of state waqf boards were present. @narendramodi Govt has set target to achieve 100 % digitisation of waqf properties across country in its first 100 days. There are more than 6 lakh registered waqf properties across country. Programme on war footing has been launched for 100 % Geo tagging and digitalisation. CWC and IIT Roorkee and AMU have started work in this regard. CWC has provided video conferencing facilities in most of state waqf boards which has ensured better and smooth coordination-communication among CWC and state waqf boards. Awarded “Mutawalis” under “Qaumi Waqf Board Taraqqiati Scheme” for excellence in waqf management. This is for first time that “Mutawalis” have been encouraged & awarded for better utilisation of waqf properties especially for socio-economic-educational empowerment of needy.
